2 cool projects I have stumbled upon recently that we would probably have a field day doing:

The 50 States Project has brought together 50 photographers from across the USA. Each photographer is given assignments (portrait, landscape etc.) to complete in their style and representative of their state.
How sweet is that? We can do a two state California/Colorado challenge.
TWO: The Interview Project
http://interviewproject.davidlynch.com/
A 20,000 mile, over 70 day roadtrip across and back the United States where "people have been found and interviewed."
I saw the 50 states project once and then was upset when they already had a photographer representing each state. You know what we could do though, is find pictures that you and I have taken from different parts of the U.S. or world and somehow find a way to make a mapping project out of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd in the spirit of David Lynch, we should definitely go on a road trip and make a photo project out of that. I've always wanted to do a road trip of the South with an emphasis on places that are big in music. Inspiration inspiration!
Mapping project...I like it. Throwback to Marlena days haha. I say we start looking through our "archives" to find photos we've taken in various states or old family photos of us or our family in various states and post them up. We'll see where that goes and perhaps by the end, the states that we don't have will become our roadtrip states? A roadtrip ABSOLUTELY will happen, btw. I am discussing a possible southwest trip with some people and I'll keep you posted!
